Guadua & Hirose

Today we returned to the Bambusa hirose and Guadua angustifolia culms that we cut over the last few weeks. They’ve dried out enough on the fields to sort through, so we pulled around 100, 10-foot poles with diameters from 4 inches and up. We cleaned off the main branches and guadua thorns, and will cure them later down in our workshop.  We donned respirators and spent the rest of the morning hauling the leftovers to our chipper, creating more mulch for later use throughout the farm.
