workshop

We set up our bamboo workshop today, something the apprentices have been very excited about for the last week. We cleaned out half of our greenhouse, brought in some drill presses and saws, and learned the two most useful bamboo joinery techniques: the pinned mortise and tenon and the fishmouth. We then looked at our closest outhouse’s design with reeducated eyes before heading back to wire up some new electrical outlets in the workshop and testing our skills on some bamboo projects. The apprentices are attempting a ladder, a shower platform, and a tomato cage. Once our projects are done we’ll share them on the blog.
